Bangladesh At Women's T20 World Cup

Bangladesh scored 119-7 in 20 overs during the inaugural T20 World Cup match. The team's sharp bowling attacks stunned Scotland, which ended the game with 103-7. The match was especially significant for captain Joty who was playing her career's 100th T20I match.

Expressing immense joy over the team's first win in over a decade, Joty told the ICC, "We’ve been waiting for this for a long time. No matter how well we play, if we don’t win, it feels meaningless. This victory gives us momentum, and I feel it’s a step towards something bigger."

The win is a heartwarming event for the team as their home country has been embroiled in widespread political turmoil this year. Bangladesh was originally supposed to host the Women's T20 World Cup, however, the venue was later shifted to the UAE due to the unrest.

Team Bangladesh hopes that this victory sets the tone for the rest of the tournament. Meanwhile, Scotland is making their first-ever T20 World Cup appearance. Saskia Horley expressed,“We’ve made history by being here, and we’ll continue to give our best.”
