To jog your memory a bit, Yadav had made headlines with his eye-opening video posted online in which he startled the nation by pointing out the poor quality food being served to the troops on the frontline living in icy heights along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. He was later dismissed on charges of indiscipline.

Yadav’s wife Sharmila had also taken to social media with an emotional message to question the authorities on the reasons behind her husband's dismissal. "He has shot the video so that the country's soldier could be benefited and the people could see what food they eat," said Sharmila. "Now that he has been dismissed, will any mother send their child to the army? What crime did he commit? Despite serving the country for 20 years, he got dismissed. What the government has done is very wrong."

Eventually, Babita came out to show support to Tej Bahadur and his wife and questioned the government's hypocritical decision. "On the one hand, we introduce Veer App, while on the other hand, we take away a soldier's job because he showed us the truth," wrote Babita.

To rectify the image, a spokesman for the BSF, said, “Constable Yadav was found guilty of all the charges and awarded dismissal from service."

Five months since Yadav posted that video on Facebook, the order of his dismissal shows that the working conditions of troops guarding the country's frontiers are in need of a revamp.

Now, the Border Security Forces (BSF) had counter accused Yadav of trying to make "false allegations" on social media regarding the quality of food. The BSF also conducted a Summary Security Force Court (SSFC), according to which the jawan was found carrying two mobile phones while on operational duty, the spokesman said.

“He said making false allegations about the quality of food was an act prejudicial to good order and discipline of the force, and that he did not adhere to formal grievance redressal mechanism available,” the spokesman alleged, quoted by DNA.

Posting photographs in uniform on social media is also a contravention of instructions, the spokesman said.
