Adhara Pérez Sánchez, a Mexican native, is an exceptionally intelligent 11-year-old. She graduated from middle and high school a year after finishing elementary school at age five, despite being bullied at school for having autism. She will be awarded a master's degree in engineering and has an IQ higher than Albert Einstein.
At age three, Adhara, who was raised in a low-income neighbourhood, had speech regressions that led to a diagnosis of autism. However, her IQ is said to be 162, which is higher than Einstein's.
Who is Adhara Pérez Sánchez? Autistic Girl With IQ Higher Than Einstein
Adhara holds degrees in industrial engineering with a specialisation in mathematics from the Technological University of Mexico and systems engineering from CNCI University. The 11-year-old prodigy is also a public speaker and aspires to become an astronaut in the future.
She is currently working with the Mexican Space Agency to promote space exploration and mathematics to young students, with the hope of one day joining NASA.
Sanchez's mother discussed how her daughter started to isolate herself after being teased by her classmates because of her condition in an interview with Marie Claire. She added that her teachers didn't appear to be concerned.
Nayeli Sánchez, Adhara's mother, claimed that the professors were not sympathetic, telling her that they wished she would finish an assignment. Sanchez's mother continued, saying that the girl started to isolate herself; she didn't want to play with her classmates because she felt strange and different.
Sánchez also revealed that Adhara could attend class for a while, but eventually, she couldn't; she passed out, and she lost interest in activities. People mocked her because she was so depressed, showing her no empathy. Adhara had to switch schools three times as a result of the unfavourable circumstances. However, the spark in her never died. Adhara's mother observed that she could memorise the entire periodic table and had even taught herself algebra. She signed her daughter up for therapy because she thought she was just bored.
At that point, the therapist noticed Adhara's potential for brilliance and suggested that the Centre for Attention to Talent (CEDAT), a school for talented children, admit her. Adhara's IQ was higher than that of both Einstein and Stephen Hawking, the school confirmed, as per a report.
