The women cricketers from Australia secured a lump sum amount on April 3, 2023. The top player on the team is believed to have earned more than 666,000 US dollars per year as per their contract.

Payment Deal For Australian Women Cricketers

The earlier contract for the Australian women cricketers stood at 80 million Australian dollars. The new contract has seen a hike from that previous number and is offering them 133 million dollars. This is not only rewarding for the world champions in Australia but also enhances the value of state contracts and the Big Bash League.

Meg Lanning is the top contract holding owing to this deal. This CA contract holder also has a WBBL contract. Lanning now earns more than 800,000 dollars annually.

There might be further earnings at The Hundred tournament in the UK and the Women's Premiere League in India which could very well collectively break the 1 million dollar mark.

Those that have only played for the WBBL, the Women's National Cricket League, and not for the Australia team will be earning more than a whopping 151,000 dollars a year.

Nick Hockley the CA chief said that he is delighted with the latest MoU as it supports women's rise in cricket.

He expressed that Cricket currently offers a good remuneration package for good female sportsmanship. The remuneration has been encouraging for role models of the Australian women's team who further encourage satisfactory female sportsmanship.

Owing to this deal the CA men's contract is going to hike to 20-24 from 17-20. There are various players from different formats.

The contractual value is expected to increase by 7.5 percent in the first year and then by 2 percent for consecutive years. The average payment received will be more than 951,000 dollars in addition to payment for matches.
