An Australian woman was fired from her corporate job when her employer discovered her OnlyFans account. Annie Knight, aged 26, expressed her frustration and distress after being terminated from her marketing position.
Knight ranks among the top 0.4% of creators on OnlyFans, and losing her day job was something she wanted to avoid at all costs. However, a few years after establishing her adult-oriented account, she received an email from her new employer on just the fifth day of her employment, stating "termination of contract."
The Australian said that the email contained screenshots from her OnlyFans account and provided three specific reasons for her dismissal; falsely claiming a secondary business, sharing explicit content online, and not seeking the company's approval for her side job.
Knight's OnlyFans Reach
Knight started her OnlyFans account in September 2020 with the aim of accumulating funds for her initial home purchase, and it turned out to be a financially rewarding endeavour.
She disclosed that she earned an average of $1,794 each month. Presently, she generates approximately $969 daily by sharing explicit photos with her loyal subscribers and fans.
Not The First Case
Earlier in September this year, an Australian schoolteacher was dismissed from her job after her side gig on OnlyFans was revealed.
Sarah Juree, 41, and a mother of two, allegedly, engaged in explicit content creation because she felt caught in a "cycle of financial hardship." According to the Toronto Sun, Juree's teacher salary amounted to 85,000 Australian dollars. After taxes, she received $1,500 every two weeks, which barely covered her rent and health insurance expenses.
Upon becoming a part of OnlyFans, Juree found herself with a more stable income. But soon after, an extreme right-wing blogger exposed her and shared nude pictures of her within the community.

A Missouri high school teacher, Brianna Coppage, 28, was suspended and subsequently resigned after her OnlyFans account came to light. She, similar to Juree, also used the account to generate extra income.
Her high school income wasn't enough to support her family. She was making somewhere between $8000 to $10,000 every month by supplying her pictures to the network.
What Is OnlyFans?
OnlyFans, a London-based online content subscription service, is primarily used by individuals in the porn industry, which includes sex workers.
The platform allows creators to monetise their user-generated content through monthly subscriptions, tips, and pay-per-view content, with creators receiving 80% of the earnings generated from these sources. In 2021, the company introduced OFTV, a free platform for streaming safe-for-work content. As of May 2023, OnlyFans had 3 million registered creators and 220 million registered consumers.
Creators have the flexibility to set monthly subscription rates within the range of $3 to $75, and some users may also pay additional fees for custom or pay-per-view content.
