Boy kills sister for marrying out of choice: A boy allegedly chopped off the head of his sister and later took a selfie with it alongside their mother, for marrying out of choice. The police detained the boy and arrested the deceased woman's mother after the incident came to light. They are trying to retrieve the selfies from the phones which is crucial evidence in this case.

The incident took place in Ladgaon village of Vaijapur tehsil on Sunday afternoon. A 17-year-old boy had chopped off his sister's head with a sickle for eloping and marrying a man of her choice. According to the Superintendent of police Nimit Goyal, the boy was inspired by a Marathi film and beheaded his 19-year-old sister while she was making tea for him and their mother. While the incident took place, the husband was allegedly resting in another room as he was unwell.
The police said that it was not an inter-caste marriage but the boy and the mother said that the deceased brought 'disrepute' to the family.
The Times of India reported that the phone on which the selfie was taken has been seized by the police. According to SP Goyal, the pictures were deleted, due to which the device has been sent to forensics in order to recover the proof.
As per the initial investigation, the boy and the mother were allegedly angry with the deceased for eloping and marrying a man she befriended while studying at a junior college.
Ten days before the murder, the mother allegedly had visited her daughter and cried hugging her. The police suspect the entire incident on Sunday to be pre-meditated murder.

The deceased had gone missing in June and the family had filed a missing person report. The Sub-Division Police Officer of Vaijapur Kailash Prajapati said that the woman's family, who was the resident of Goyegaon village, had filed the report. Eight days after she went missing, the couple married on June 21. Since then, the couple was living in Ladgaon.

- On October 17 this year, two bodies were found at a village crossroads in Punjab. The deceased had an intercaste marriage, the man belonged to the Scheduled Caste (SC), while the woman to the Other Backward Classes (OBC). According to the Moga Police in Punjab, the couple were allegedly kidnapped by the woman's family who was not happy with the alliance. A case of murder, kidnapping and conspiracy theory has been registered against the brother of the deceased woman.
- In Bhopal, a father allegedly raped and then strangled his daughter with the help of his son, unhappy with her intercaste marriage. The woman had lost her son to pneumonia on Diwali, following which the father and son duo took the woman and the boy to the forest for cremation. There, the father allegedly sexually assaulted the daughter while the son kept a watch. The 24-year-old was strangled to death and both the bodies were left in the forest.
