Asha Kandara raised her two children alone after her husband left her in 2002. She did not get bogged down in face of adversity instead she chose to take steps towards a better future for her family.
Kandara continued her education while raising her children and graduated in 2016. Since she had made up her mind to become an officer, Kandara sat in the Rajasthan Administrative Officer exam in 2018.
As per reports, she was selected as a sweeper staff in Municipal Corporation right after her state service examination. Waiting for the results, Kandara had to have a source of income. This is why she spent her two years sweeping the streets of Jodhpur.
The results of Rajasthan Administrative Services 2018 (RAS-2018) were announced on July 14 and Asha Kandara found her name in its merit list. Kandara's success is the result of her hard work during the tough times in her life. In 2018, she gave the Safai Karamchari exams, studied for the RAS pre-exams and did everything while taking care of her children. In October 2018, Kandara cleared the RAS pre exams and started preparing for the main exams.
"When I got selected in RAS on Tuesday, my happiness knew no bounds, " said Asha Kandara while talking to the media.

Another such tale of victory was reported from Hanumangarh's Bhairusari where a farmer saw three of his daughter clearing the RAS exams together. The three sisters reportedly could not pursue classroom education after class five due to economic restrictions. The sisters home-schooled and helped each other over the years.
The farmer Sahadev Saharan can now see all five of his daughters working as government officials of Rajasthan state administration. His daughters Ritu, Suman and Anshu were praised by IFS officer Praveen Kaswan on Wednesday. He wrote, " All five daughters of farmer Sahdev Saharan are now RAS officers. Ritu, Anshu, Suman were selected yesterday. The other two were already in service. What a proud moment for family in village. "
