Republic Day will be soon upon us, and with that comes the Indian Armed Forces Republic Day parade. As India gets ready to celebrate its 74th Republic Day, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recently revealed that the central theme is Nari Shakti.

Women At Republic Day Parade

All-Women Marching And Band Contingent

An all-women marching and band contingent of the CRPF will be a major part of the upcoming Republic Day parade. The contingent is currently rehearsing for the national event which is set to take place at the Kartavya Path (previously known as Rajpath).

Women Camel Riders

For the first time, a dozen women camel riders will participate in the famed camel contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF) during the Republic Day parade.

Marching atop the camels, the women will be donning specially designed regal ceremonial uniforms.

The BSF camel contingent has been participating in the Republic Day parade since 1976.

Air Force Women Officers To Take Centre Stage

According to a Defence Ministry statement, female officers will assist President Droupadi Murmu in unfurling the national flag and will lead the Air Force contingent.

The Defence Ministry said the IAF transcended traditional boundaries by inducting women who undertake all tasks alongside their male counterparts.

Woman Officer To Lead Navy At Parade

Lieutenant Commander Disha Amrith, a naval air operations officer, will lead the naval marching contingent down the Kartavya Path in the Republic Day parade.

The 29-year-old tri-service Andaman Nicobar Command naval air operations officer will lead the 144-member contingent of young sailors.

It had been Amrith's dream to participate in the Republic Day parade since she was a young NCC cadet in 2008.

Women Officer To Ride Motorcycles As Part Of Daredevils Team

Lieutenant Dimple Bhati from the Corps of Signals will be part of the Indian Army's Daredevils motorcycle team at the Republic Day parade. The officer has been training with the team for a year.

Bhati said she has been participating in different shows and events with her team for the last year and has been fully supported by her colleagues.

Woman Officer To Lead Missile Contingent

Lieutenant Chetana Sharma will be leading the 'Made in India' Akash surface-to-air missile system at the Republic Day parade.

Lieutenant Sharma is from an Army Air Defence regiment unit and said it was a proud moment for her to get the opportunity to represent her unit and the Army.
