Armstrong city clerks among four arrested, financial fraud alleged: The residents of a small town Armstrong in Iowa, United States have been left shocked after four officials were taken in on criminal charges of an alleged embezzlement scheme. As per reports, these arrests come following a long investigation.
Those named in the alleged fraud are the City Clerk Tracie Lang, former City Clerk Connie Thackery, town mayor Greg Buum and Police Chief Craig Merrill. The four, out of which both Armstrong city clerks are women, have been charged with 21 felony and misdemeanour counts, as per KTTC.
They have also been accused of falsifying public records and using a stun gun on a civilian, KWWL reports.
Armstrong City Clerks: Who Are These Two Women?
Tracie Lang was serving as the current city clerk of Armstrong. Originally from Minnesota, she is a graduate of the John D. Odegard School Of Aerospace Sciences, University of North Dakota. She was based in Armstrong, Iowa with her husband. She has been charged with first-degree fraudulent practice.
Connie Thackery meanwhile was a former official in the city clerk's seat, like Lang. She has reportedly been charged with ongoing criminal conduct.
