Arijit Singh Mother Passes Away: Singer Arijit Singh’s mother, Aditi Singh, died of COVID-19 complications in a hospital in Kolkata on Thursday. According to reports, she was in a critical state and passed away around 11 am.

She had been getting treatment in the hospital after testing positive for the virus. The news of her hospitalisation was confirmed by actor Swastika Mukherjee and filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee after they requested help on social media.

Both the celebrities had shared that Singh's mother is in need of a blood donor with A negative blood type.

Arijit Singh in his latest Facebook post had expressed gratitude for the people who had reached out to help his mother. He wrote, "I am thankful to people who reached out and helped but please remember we are all human beings. Every individual is a priority." He had asked his fans to not go out of their way to help just because he is a famous person.

The singer had also expressed concerns over the rise in COVID-19 cases among children.

Swastika Mukherjee had posted on social media earlier that Singh's mother is admitted to AMRI Dhakuria. She wrote, "Need A-blood for singer Arijit Singh’s mother, admitted in Amri Dhakuria. Need it today. Pls contact @swatihihihi with verified MALE DONORS (sic)." Her post was later deleted.

Arijit Singh became a popular playback singer after the success of his romantic numbers such as Tum Hi Ho, Kabura, Suno Na Sangamarmar and many hit songs from the film 2 States.
