Microsoft has named Aparna Gupta as the leader of its Global Delivery Center, a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency and global service delivery. Aparna Gupta, with a background steeped in leadership and expertise, is set to steer Microsoft's delivery center operations to new heights
Microsoft has recently announced a new leader, Aparna Gupta, to oversee their Global Delivery Center (GDC) on November 21. Gupta will be responsible for spearheading "customer innovation and delivery excellence, cloud growth acceleration with top-tier talent, industry depth, and a partner ecosystem," the tech giant stated.
The GDC was established in Hyderabad in 2005 and collaborates with architects, consultants, and project managers to deliver best-in-class delivery solutions to customers worldwide. The GDC has now scaled to Bengaluru, Noida, and other countries.
Puneet Chandok, the president of Microsoft India and South Asia, said, “We are delighted to announce Aparna’s elevation as the lead of GDC... Her extensive experience and deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies will help customers plan and deploy future-ready solutions, especially in the age of AI, and maximize the value of their investment in Microsoft. Who is Aparna Gupta?
Aparna Gupta has over 25 years of overall industry experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Early in her career and before moving into software, Aparna worked at a biotechnology lab focusing on the development of a Malaria vaccine.
Before joining Microsoft, Aparna Gupta was the managing director at FirstRain Inc India, where she had worked for over 15 years. She joined Microsoft six years ago as the India lead for Commercial Software Engineering (CSE), now ISE (Industry Solutions Engineering). Before being appointed as the GDC lead, Aparna Gupta served as the Customer Success leader in Microsoft India and South Asia Area.
Gupta has driven a strong consumption culture for her teams and business outcomes across the Microsoft Cloud. She is credited with establishing the Customer Success Unit (CSU) as a new segment in the Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) in India.
Gupta has also been a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, serving as the executive sponsor for the Women’s Employee Resource Group Charter at Microsoft India, where she has built a diverse team. Gupta has also made contributions and volunteered at several non-profit organizations, where she uses her expertise in entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation to encourage women to leverage the power of digital in their careers.
Gupta is also associated with NASSCOM/10,000 Start-Ups, Anita Borg Institute, and BD (Beyond Diversity) Foundation, among other non-profit organizations.
