A 16-year-old girl, who had come to take the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exam fainted while attempting it on Monday. According to reports, the girl was brought to a general hospital but was pronounced dead due to cardiac arrest.

According to preliminary information, the girl has been identified as Anushree, a native of Akkuru village in T. Narsipur taluk. She was a student from Madapura high school who was taking the SSLC exam at Vidyodaya Examination Centre on March 28.

The staff reportedly hurried her to the government hospital as soon as she fainted in the exam room. As per reports, she is said to have died shortly after being admitted to the hospital.

Officials from the Department of Public Instruction declined to comment until her medical report arrived, stating that a briefing would be issued by the evening.

According to a report, within minutes after beginning the examination, Ramachandra Raje Urs, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Mysuru, received information of the girl collapsing in the examination hall. "She was brought to T. Narsipur's government hospital, where she passed away," said Raje Urs to a news portal.

"Anushree, (16) has died prematurely after collapsing at the SSLC examination Center in T Narasipura (in Mysuru). My condolences to parents, relatives and friends", said BC Nagesh, the Karnataka Education Minister. Exam pressure is supposed to affect pupils, and this case illustrates how difficult the environment may be for individuals sitting board exams. A 16-year-old kid died, reportedly of a heart attack, before his first exam paper, which was set to be held the next day, at a similar event in the 2018 Board. Rutvik Ghadshi, a student at Shishuvihar School in Dadar, was about to sit for his SSC exams.
