What CCTV or nimbu-mirchi garland? This vegetable shop in Bengaluru has come up with the most unique (and rather effective) way to ward off evil eyes and look out for thieves. With a photograph of an angry woman hung on a pillar nearby, the shopkeeper is confident that no one would dare to steal under her watchful eyes. A resident named Niharika Rao shared a photo of the witty business tactic to her X (Twitter), leaving viewers guessing.

'Moms When You Pay For Dhaniya'

X user Niharika Rao was on a usual grocery shopping trip to the market when an unusual photograph caught her eye. A photo of a wide-eyed angry woman, seemingly warning us about something. Think of the same expression moms make when we ask for the price of coriander instead of demanding it for free.

Expressing delight over the humourous photo, Rao posted, "I am so glad I stepped out today." The photo has gone viral and netizens had varied reactions to it. While one X user wrote, "That looks damn scary man," another disagreed and joked, "It's hard to not fall in love when someone looks at you like that."

Some even zoomed into the scary expression of the woman for added effect. "Chup Chaaap Sabji Leeloooooo," one X user joked. Another wrote, "How is one supposed to sleep after seeing this?" Several netizens were even curious to know the reason behind the photo, and Bengaluru residents came up with different theories.

One X user shared that several vegetable vendors in the city have used the photo as a mechanism to ward off the inevitable 'nazar.' He wrote, "As far as I know, there’s no story [behind the photo] to be honest, it’s to ward off evil eyes. This photo became a trend and is placed in many other shops too."

Reacting to the comment, another curious person asked, "But who is this woman? She is seemingly successful in warding off evil, going by her popularity among the vendors in the locality," to which someone replied with a joke. "It is only a conceptual painting." The photo has become a viral meme now.
