In a case of revenge crime, an Andhra Pradesh-based woman killed a man accused of murdering her son by slitting his throat a year and a half ago. The incident happened on Tuesday, and the woman surrendered herself to the police on Wednesday morning.
The police said that Jaan Bi was a single mother who was staying with her two sons in Narasaraopet, Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh. She was performing labour work with her sons for a living. Her husband, Shabbir, passed away 15 years ago.

Jaan Bi had then gotten into a relationship with a local rowdy sheeter named Sheikh Baji, 36. On finding out about the relationship, Jaan Bi’s elder son warned Sheikh Baji not to continue visiting their home. Furious over the warning, Sheikh Baji and three of his friends slit the throat of Jaan Bi's elder son in August 2021.
Thereafter, Jaan Bi, with the help of her brother Hussian and younger son, killed the main accused, Kasam, when he was in an inebriated condition at Cinema Hall junction in Narasaraopet in December 2021. Immediately after committing the murder, Jaan Bi surrendered herself to the police but came out on bail a few months later. She then plotted a plan to kill the second accused, Baji.
Baji had reportedly been living in hiding for the past one and a half years after learning that Jaan Bi had vowed to kill him.
After coming out of prison on bail, Jaan Bi managed to get Baji's phone number with the help of some friends. She laid a trap for him by telling him that she had forgotten the past and wanted to be in a live-in relationship with him. She had been talking to him for four days and managed to convince him.
Jaan Bi had then invited Baji to her brother’s birthday celebration on Tuesday night, where she hatched a plan to murder him along with her brother Hussain and his friends Gopikrishna and Harish.
Baji, who got inebriated at the birthday party, was killed by Jaan Bi, her brother, and his two friends. They attacked him with knives, killed him, and tried to burn his body with petrol. As the body was only partially burned, they decided to bury it. They dug a pit, buried Baji's body, and surrendered themselves to the police on Wednesday morning, confessing to the murder.
The police immediately took them into custody. Narasaraopet rural circle inspector Bhaktavatsala Reddy and sub-inspector Balanagi Reddy went to the burial spot and recovered Baji’s body. Baji was survived by his wife, Monina, a daughter, and two sons. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is ongoing.
