Anandnagar rape case: A 23-year-old woman was threatened by her former boyfriend, who had allegedly raped her, to withdraw the police complaint against him. She has filed a fresh complaint with the police stating criminal intimidation by the accused on October 29, Friday. The survivor had filed the rape complaint in April this year.
According to the survivor's first-person report with the Anandnagar Police, she is a resident of Madhya Pradesh, who moved to Ahmedabad a year ago after she fell in love with the accused.
Since then she has been living together with the accused and only in January did she come to know that he was already married. According to the complaint filed, this information was not known tothe survivor before she moved in.
After that, the survivor asked the accused to file for a divorce but the accused refused to part ways with his wife. Later in April this year, she filed a rape case against the accused.
Since then the accused has been allegedly persuading the survivor to withdraw the FIR. Mounting to that, on October 28, Thursday, the night the accused allegedly called the survivor to meet him in the parking area of the flat that they previously resided in. In that meeting, the survivor was allegedly threatened to be killed by the accused.

Last month, a rape survivor at the Air Force Administrative College in Coimbatore was also allegedly forced and blackmailed to withdraw her complaint against the accused, who was a Flight Lieutenant in the same college. The pressure on the woman officer was reportedly made by the Commandant. The survivor had registered a First-Person Report (FIR) against the accused, Amitesh Harmukh at the All Women Police Station in Coimbatore Central on September 20. The accused was arrested on September 25.
In a Ludhiana, Makhan Singh of Rod village and five other people allegedly attacked the family member of a gangrape survivor. The police charged them with criminal intimidation and assault. The father of the survivor was standing outside his house when the accused and his group attacked him with sticks and iron rods on June 25. The 17-year-old survivor had filed the FIR against the accused on May 7 under section 376 D (Rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
