Business tycoon and former head of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry and Global Strategy director for KPMG, Jehangir Pandole was killed in a car crash in September 2022. The investigations in the case recently found Dr Anahita Pandole as guilty of the accident.
Anahita Pandole, a gynaecologist and the wife of Darius Pandole, one of the two survivors of the accident, was allegedly driving the car when the accident took place. The car was reportedly driving at a high speed and it crashed while trying to overtake another vehicle.
Cyrus Mistry and Jehangir Pandole died in the accident while Anahita Pandole and her husband Darius Pandole were admitted to the hospital. While Darius Pandole was recently discharged from the hospital, Anahita Pandole is currently receiving physiotherapy for recovery and is expected to discharge soon.
The Bombay High Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a culpable homicide charge against Pandole in the Cyrus Mistry death case.

Anahita Pandole Booked In Cyrus Mistry Case
The police lodged an FIR on Friday against Anahita Pandole who was driving the car under the Indian Penal Code's Sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt), 304A (death due to negligence) and 338 (grievous hurt). She was also booked for Motor Vehicles Act's Sections 183 (driving at excessive speed), 112 (limits of speed) and 184 (dangerous driving) as well as Motor Vehicle Driving Regulation's Sections 6 (lane traffic), 14 (overtaking) and 5 (duties of drivers/riders).
The police booked the gynaecologist after a detailed investigation that collected the statements from witnesses on the accident scene, the technical analysis of the damaged car from Mercedes Benz as the car belonged to that company and an RTO report.
The police also recorded the statement of Darius Pandole who confirmed the overtaking story. She reportedly told the police, "On seeing that the three-lane road was merging into two, the car ahead took a right turn and safely moved on. Witnessing this, Dr Anahita also tried to take a right turn but could not do so because a heavy vehicle was moving on her right. So, she ended up ramming the car into the boundary wall of the bridge".
Darius Pandole was discharged on October 28 from the hospital and his statement was recorded on Tuesday after which the police came to a conclusion.
