The post received mixed reactions from the audience. Some expressed curiosity to watch Alia Bhatt sharing screen with South Indian superstars Ram Charan, who plays the role of Sitaramraju, and NTR Jr. who plays the role of Komaram Bheem in the film.

Others trolled her for being another Hindi speaking female actor being cast in a Telugu film. A Twitter user in their tweet said, "I wish our talented Telugu heroines are welcomed in Hollywood the same way!" A lot of tweets also questioned her character which according to them is not apt to play the holy role of Sita. Some tweets also featured her stills from her previous movies and targeted her outfits calling them inappropriate. Some fans also speculated that the creator's motive behind getting Bhatt on board is just to give a national platform to the film.

RRR is going to be Alia Bhatt's debut in Telugu film industry and she will be joined by Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Alison Doody, Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris and Ray Stevenson. The film, RRR called the next magnum opus of SS Rajamauli after the huge success of Bahubali is reportedly going to be released in 10 languages. The Telugu language film will tell the story of India's freedom struggle against the British with a twist of mythological drama. The big-budget film is being produced by DVV Danayya of DVV Entertainment and is expected to go floors in January 2021.
