Influencer Alexis Sharkey's Husband, A Suspect In Her Murder, Found Dead

Alexis Sharkey husband dead: Instagram influencer Alexis Sharkey's husband Thomas was found dead in Florida on October 6. Thomas had an arrest warrant in his name and the police intended to charge him with the murder of his wife. His death comes nearly a year after the 26-year-old influencer's naked body was found three miles from her apartment, three days after she went missing.

Friends and family of Alexis Sharkey had made claims about trouble in her marriage shortly after she went missing. According to the US Marshals (federal law enforcement officers), who were tracking Thomas, Alexis' 50-year-old husband was the only person who had the means, motive and opportunity to have committed the murder.

Alexis Sharkey's husband Thomas was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"We established that there was a history of domestic violence between the two of them, the relationship was ending and there was a pending divorce," said homicide detective Michael Burrow, according to E! Online. The detective further revealed that there was clear evidence to suggest that Thomas Sharkey had not been truthful about several key issues and statements that he made to police.

What was the case?

Sharkey, an influencer with a following of 31,000 on Instagram, went missing from her home a day after Thanksgiving last year. The news about her disappearance reached her parents next day, only when her husband called them. The influencer's friends further raised an alarm on weekend, saying that she was not responding to their calls and texts. Three days later, the 26-year-old's naked body was found along the side of a service road some three miles from her home.

Sharkey's mother alleged foul play in the disappearance and death of her daughter. "The way in which she was found – my child would never do that to herself. That doesn’t even make sense. That is absolutely foul play. There is nothing to me that suggests that this was an accident… I believe that in my mother’s gut."

Her friends also accused Thomas of physically and verbally abusing Alexis. According to some of her friends, the couple was headed for a divorce, however, Thomas had denied all the allegations levied against him. Read more about it here.
