Aishe Ghosh To Contest WB Polls: Ghosh will be contesting the upcoming West Bengal Polls as a CPI(M) candidate.
Aishe Ghosh will be contesting the election from Jamuria seat. She will be the first sitting JNUSU President to contest the polls. Ghosh tweeted in the morning saying, " Will be contesting from Jamuria Legislative Assembly Seat as candidate of the CPI(M), supported by the Sanyukt Morcha. Requesting all of your support."
Jamuria Vidhan Sabha constituency is a constituency in Paschim Bardhaman district of West Bengal.

Ghosh in 2019 became the first Student Federation of India (SFI) president of JNUSU. Her party SFI belongs to the left-leaning political ideology. She is a resident of Durgapur, West Bengal. She did her under-graduation from Delhi University in political science before joining JNU to do a master’s course in International Relations.
Aishe Ghosh attacked by goons when violence broke out at the Jawaharlal Nehru University January 2020. A group of around 50 masked men reportedly barged into the campus and attacked students and teachers.
Elections for the 294-member West Bengal assembly will be held in eight phases. The state goes to the polls on March 27 and the final round of voting will take place on April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
Another SFI Delhi member Dipshita Dhar will also be contesting the elections in West Bengal from the Bally Legislative Assembly Seat as candidate of CPIM supported by the Sanyukt Morcha.
