An Air Force Wing Commander is facing serious allegations of rape and intimidation by a 24-year-old woman who claims to have been an 'intern' with the Indian Air Force. The accused, a 38-year-old officer, has vehemently denied the charges, stating that their relationship was consensual and based on mutual understanding.
According to the FIR filed, the accused allegedly engaged in repeated sexual abuse, falsely promising marriage, and using intimidation tactics.
Background Of The Case
The woman, in her FIR, filed at the Parliament Street police station on December 1, recounts a harrowing tale of repeated sexual abuse by the accused. She alleges that the Wing Commander falsely promised marriage, concealed his marital status, and subjected her to physical and emotional trauma. Their relationship, she claims, involved visits to his parents' house in Ambala, where she resided for several months under the impression of an impending marriage.
The woman claims to have discovered the truth on November 6th when she stumbled upon photographs of the accused with another woman and two children on social media. This revelation led to a confrontation on November 16th, where she alleges she was raped again and threatened with dire consequences, prompting her to file the FIR, which details instances of forced physical relationships despite her resistance.
Legal Proceedings
The accused has vehemently denied the allegations, asserting that their relationship was consensual and characterized by friendship. According to the accused, when he refused to help her secure a permanent position as a doctor with the Indian Air Force, she resorted to threats. He also claims the woman was aware of his marital status and has filed for anticipatory bail.
Counterclaims And Defense
The accused, in his bail application, contends that the complainant was aware of his marital status. The defence asserts that the entire prosecution's case hinges on a false allegation regarding the accused's marriage. Furthermore, they claim that the woman sought undue favours, pressuring the accused to secure her a permanent position as a doctor with the Indian Air Force.
In response, the woman denies the defence's claims, asserting that she was an intern, not a psychologist, as mentioned in the court documents. She refutes the knowledge of the accused's wife and challenges the accuracy of the call detail records presented in defence.
As the legal battle ensues, the accused has been granted anticipatory bail until the next hearing on January 3rd. The investigation is ongoing, with the Defense (Western Command) confirming awareness of the allegations and asserting full cooperation with the inquiry.
