Tony Fernandez, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Asia, is facing severe backlash from netizens after he shared a photo of himself without a shirt while receiving a massage during an executive meeting.
The Viral Picture
Fernandes in an attempt to appreciate the corporate culture within his company took to LinkedIn, a social media platform which primarily focuses on business and employment-related content, and shared the shirtless picture with the caption, 'Love AirAsia culture that permits me to combine a massage session with a management meeting.'
Nevertheless, his post has garnered disapproval from a significant number of online users, who found it to be "inappropriate."
As of now, the LinkedIn post has been deleted.
According to the reports by Hindustan Times, the post was published on October 16. And since then it has received over 500 likes and garnered a substantial number of comments, before being taken down.
Many individuals used the comments section to express their view that conducting meetings shirtless and receiving a massage in an office environment is deemed as "improper."
Social Media Lashes Out
According to India Today, many users in the comment section called out Fernandez. One user taking a jibe at the services of Air Asia wrote, "Welcome to AirAsia, where meetings are as gross as the passenger experiences."
While another remarked, "An adult male, holding a management meeting while receiving a massage without a shirt on, remains inappropriate, even if he is the CEO of a publicly traded company."
The picture has gone viral on social media platform X, formerly Twitter as well. It has been shared by several users with captions calling the picture 'disgusting.'
One user wrote, "What a low! Air Asia CEO takes meeting topless oops shirtless! What more?"
