Agra Teachers Suspended: Dancing in the classroom has led to the suspension of five teachers of a government primary school in Agra. The authorities took the decision after their video went viral on social media last week. The teachers were suspended on 26th September, as reported by PTI.
According to Basic Shiksha Adhikari in-charge Brajraj Singh, their behaviour was unethical and it was not right on their part to act like this during school time in the classroom. All the five assistant teachers and the headteacher of the primary school at Sadhan in Achhnera block were asked to submit their clarifications. Four out of five replied but the clarification wasn't satisfactory. The office of the Basic Shiksha Adhikari in Agra passed the suspension orders after that.
The five teachers were grooving to the popular song 'Mainu Legenga lede mehnga’. This has also enraged the villagers. The suspension order reads that the songs the teachers were seen dancing to were not educative. They have also violated the Teachers’ Service Rules by their actions and tarnished the image of the education department. The video was recorded on March 21, 2021 after which the principal of the school, Dinesh Chand Parihar was asked to give an explanation, as per reports.
