We have often heard that life is not a bed of roses but the hardships one goes through help him/her become the best version of themselves by making use of their inner strength. One such girl who didn't give up in the face of adversity is S Sindhu from Tamil Nadu.
A commerce student of Vidyodaya Girls Higher Secondary School in T Nagar, Sindhu will be giving her Class XII board exam lying on a cot. A scribe has also been assigned who will assist her.
The story of bedridden Tamil Nadu girl
In December 2020, the district-level basketball volleyball player fell from the third floor of a building that left her bedridden. She now needs assistance to sit and her leg still has an open wound. She lost her teeth also after the fall. She had to undergo extensive reconstructive surgery.
The girl wanted to join the Army and become a professional volleyball player. If she is capable of walking again, she would love to play football. She lives in a single-room rented house at Kodambakkam that she shares with her parents and younger sibling.
Her father is a tea seller. He says that his daughter has extraordinary willpower and survived despite doctors thinking otherwise. He is, however, grappling to fund his daughter's plastic surgery.
Help in studies
Her friends and relatives have been very supportive through these turbulent times and help her study. Sindhu is a noble soul and the fact that she donated her hair for cancer patients days before she met with the accident proves it. Her teacher also said that they are working hard to ensure that she completed her class XII and becomes an inspiring example for others. The school observed a mass prayer recently for her recovery, as per a report.
