Despite the Taliban's ban on education for women, an Afghan woman is teaching girls various subjects in secret. She has introduced a new wave of change to the country by assisting young women in getting an education.
The lady previously owned a restaurant in Kabul before the Taliban took control. She is now educating girls in 'secret. ' Rather than fleeing Afghanistan, she chose to stay and provide a safety net for Afghan women who had nowhere else to go.
Afghan Woman Teaches Girls
The woman was quoted by Khaama Press as saying that it felt like that earthquake took everything away from her after her restaurant was shut down. The Taliban had banned women from running businesses. The woman said she took it upon herself to act for the benefit for all women and decided to not flee the nation.
Instead, the Afghan woman decided to stay and provide a safe haven for women who didn't have any other place to turn to. She established the Mother Educational Center (MEC), which offers 500 women the opportunity to obtain an education. MEC educated women in a variety of topics such as photography, English, physics, mathematics, and art.
MEC initially had two branches, one in Kabul's backstreets and another in the centre Afghan region of Daikundi. The Diadundi branch closed last year due to a shortage of money; nevertheless, females continue to attend lessons at the Kabul branch.
In addition to gaining essential skills in a variety of courses, female students are beginning to earn money by producing jewellery and other products out of wasted ammunition. The minimum wage will make a significant contribution to their family's living situation during these trying times.
Women have suffered the most since the fall of the Ashraf Ghani administration and the Taliban's takeover of Kabul. Women are not permitted to hold positions of leadership in the country and are not permitted to travel without being accompanied by a male companion.
The Taliban vowed to restore all schools on March 23, 2022, but on that day, they shut secondary schools for girls once more.
Women's rights, according to the Taliban, are an internal Afghan matter in which international countries should not intervene.
