Indian golf star Aditi Ashok, along with compatriot Tvesa Malik, is all set to tee up at the Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open. The tournament, co-sanctioned with the Ladies Professional Golf Association, will be played at the Dumbarnie Links in Scotland. She was in Europe last month also for Amundi Evian Championships. Golfer Aditi Ashok missed out on winning an Olympic medal at Women’s Individual Stroke Play by a whisker. She was placed at position 4 at the end of round 4. She was hoping to be become the first golfer from India to clinch a medal in the Olympics. However, her stellar performance was hailed by Indians. According to them, it marked a new era for women’s golf in India.
This was the second time this 21-year-old participated in Olympic games. She had finished at the 41st place in Rio. Interestingly, she was the youngest player at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the only woman golfer to represent India at the event.
She was the only Indian golfer who played the Asian Youth Games (2013) Youth Olympic Games (2014) and Asian Games (2014). She has been a three time National Junior Champion in 2012, 2013, 2014 and a two-time National Amateur Champion in 2011 and 2014. Read more about her stellar achievements here.
