This year, actresses wore all black to the Golden Globes in solidarity with victims of sexual assault. The red carpet didn’t matter much. The black dress code was part of the Time’s Up campaign. The drive was launched by 300 Hollywood celebrities after the Harvey Weinstein scandal erupted.
The dress code is unprecedented. Instead of about who wore what, the conversation is about how celebrities got together to fight sexual harassment
At the ceremony, actresses spoke about the cause. America Ferrera said, "It’s our job, the time is now, for us to do the work to make women more safe and more equal in their workplaces..."
Eva Longoria said, "This isn’t a moment, it’s a movement."
Natalie Portman called out the fact that all of the nominated directors were men. “Here are all the male nominees,” she said

We love the all-black look and the movement these celebrities have started.
What the campaign is all about
'Time’s Up’ is a call for change from women in entertainment for women everywhere. The campaign is funded by actresses, including Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria and Emma Stone.
It has raised more than $13 million. The money will be used to offer legal support for sexual harassment victims. The legal defence fund will help less privileged women like janitors, nurses and factory workers protect themselves from sexual abuse. The campaign will try and reach gender parity in studios and talent agencies.
The exceptions
And of course there were those who did not wear all-black. German model Barbara Meier, Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Meher Tatna and actress Bianca Blanco did not wear black. However, they said they still supported the Time's Up movement.
