Actress Yuvika Chaudhary Booked For Using Casteist Slurs

Actress Yuvika Chaudhary was booked by Haryana Police for mentioning casteist slurs in her viral video on Saturday after a complaint had been filed by activist Rajat Kalsan.

The Haryana Police has filed a FIR against actress Yuvika Chaudhary over mentioning casteist slurs in her video which went viral on social media. The complaint was filed by a Dalit rights activist, Rajat Kalsan.

The activist alleged that the actress used derogatory remarks and slurs in her video which he handed over to the Police on Friday, May 28.

The actress has been booked under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, an official reported.

The complaint was filed by Kalsan on May 26 to the Hansi Superintendent of Police, Nikita Ahlawat. The video went viral on social media causing discontent among the people on May 25. An FIR was then filed against Yuvika at Hansi Police Station after an investigation conducted by the cyber cell.

“She will be summoned soon; possibility that she will be arrested when she shows up for enquiry”, Rajat Kalsan stated.

The video was shot with Prince Narula, Yuvika’s husband while he was getting ready. The actress used the casteist slur to remark how bad she looked in the video. The social media users took it to Twitter with #ArrestYuvikaChaudhary trending as the video went viral.

Soon after, Chaudhary issued an apology video where she said that she did not know the meaning of the word and did not intend to hurt anyone.

“Hi guys I didn’t kw the meaning about that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologise to each n every one I hope you understand love you all (sic).” Yuvika wrote on Instagram.

Actress Munmun Dutta, known for her role of Babita ji from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was also booked by Congress activist for using a casteist slut in her YouTube video. She also issued an apology for the same blaming language barrier for her mistake.
