Veteran actress Reema Lagoo passed away on Thursday morning (May 18) due to cardiac arrest. She has 59. Her last rites will be held later today.

The actor complained of chest pain late on Wednesday and was rushed to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai’s Andheri where she breathed her last. The hospital's Executive Director, Ram Naraian, told PTI. "We will issue a health report later in the day, after consulting with her family."
As per a report in The Hindustan Times, Lagoo’s son-in-law Vinay Waikul said, “She was complaining of chest pain, so we took her to the hospital around 1 am. She passed away due to a heart attack around 3.15 am. She was perfectly fine and had no health issues...so it is really shocking for all of us that she is no more with us.”

In the late 1970s, she started her career in Hindi and Marathi films. Well-known as Bollywood’s favourite mum, she played mother to many of the big names like Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Shah Rukh Khan in Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and many more. She also won four Filmfare Awards for the best-supporting actress.
Reema Lagoo also worked in several popular television shows with notable performances in popular sitcoms of the late 90s like 'Tu Tu Main Main' and 'Shriman Shrimati'.
She was last seen on the hit TV show 'Naamkaran'.
