Actor Yuvika Chaudhary Arrested By Haryana Police For Making Casteist Remarks
On the complaint of a Dalit rights activist, Rajat Kansal, a case has been registered against Chaudhary under the charges of section 3 of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes ( Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Actor Yuvika Chaudhary was arrested by the Haryana Police on Monday for allegedly making offensive remarks against Scheduled Castes on a social media platform. She was soon released on interim bail following an order from the Punjab and Haryana High Court order.

As per reports, the Superintendent of Police of Hansi, Nitika Gahlaut confirmed Chaudhary's arrest and subsequent bail. Just two days prior to her arrest, cricketer Yuvraj Singh was arrested in a similar case.
On May 28 this year, an FIR was lodged against Yuvika Chaudhary at a police station in Hansi, Haryana. The complainant accused the actor of making offensive remarks against the Scheduled Caste on a social media platform while filming a video of her husband Prince Narula. Chaudhary has been in many Hindi films including the famous Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Om Shanti Om.

Kansal had alleged that the comments made by Chaudhary created enmity and hatred among the Scheduled and other castes and could lead to violence. He pointed out that the actor has lakhs of followers on social media platforms and her remarks insulted and hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community. The actor had come out with an apology claiming that she did not know the meaning of the offensive word she used in the said video and had no idea it could hurt anyone's sentiments. At the time when the video surfaced online earlier this year, the actor's name started trending on Twitter with many demanding her arrest.
Not long ago from Chaudhary's video, actor Munmun Dutta from popular television drama, Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma, was seen using a casteist slur in one of her videos. She was also booked under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Act for her alleged action.
