Actor-director Vijay Raaz has been arrested in Gondia, Maharashtra for allegedly molesting a female crew member. As per the police, a case has been registered against the 57-year old. Raaz's most notable recent appearance on the big screen was in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy in 2019.
ANI, quoting Atul Kulkarni, Additional Superintendent of Police in Gondia, reported that Raaz was arrested on November 2:

According to Hindustan Times, the incident happened on the sets of Sherni, a film starring Vidya Balan in the lead. Balan, Raaz, and the rest of the cast were staying in a Gondia hotel. A 30-year-old co-actor had, more than once, accused Raaz of harassing and teasing her. The news report alleges that he “repeatedly tried to molest his co-star during evening hours for the last three days,” following which she filed an official complaint.Pramod Ghonge, an investigation officer in Gondia, said that he was booked under section 354 (A and D) of the Indian Penal Code. After being produced before a local court, Raaz was later released on bail.
Vijay Raaz is an actor who has a wide repertoire of films to his name, chiefly in memorable supporting roles across a versatile spate of Hindi films.
Brought up in Delhi, Raaz made his first appearance on film with the 1999 film Bhopal Express. However, his first major break in mainstream cinema came with Mira Nair's 2001 film Monsoon Wedding. He is also widely remembered for his role as Ganesh in Run, alongside Abhishek Bachchan.
Of late, Raaz has appeared in several web releases in 2020, including Lootcase and Gulabo Sitabo.
