Actor Subhra Kundu, the wife of Rose Valley Group chairperson Gautam Kundu, was arrested on Friday in Kolkata by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Her arrest is reportedly in connection to the Rose Valley chit fund case, one of the biggest scams to have emerged from West Bengal, that the premier investigation agency has been probing. Several other high-profile names like film producer Srikant Mohta and Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay also emerged for their alleged involvement in the chit fund scam. Business Today reports that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) pegs the scam amount somewhere around Rs 17,520 crore.
