Actor Arrested for Stealing: In an ironic event, two women junior actors, who worked in popular crime serials on television were arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 3.28 lakhs from the paying guest accommodation they stayed at, in Aarey Colony, Mumbai.
The police have reported that Rs 50,000 have been recovered from the two accused. The women are reportedly unemployed because of the coronavirus pandemic induced economic slump. The police is probing the matter.

The two women have reportedly acted in serials like Saavdhaan India, Crime Patrol. It is alleged that both women came to the paying guest accommodation and fled with the money.
As per reports during the investigation CCTV footage from the crime site was examined, in which both of the accused were seen going out with the money. Further, when the Mumbai police interrogated the accused women, both of them admitted to committing the crime.
The women have been produced in a court and sent in Police custody till 23 June.
Unemployment during COVID-19 Lockdown
In January 2021, India saw an unemployment rate of over six percent. The Indian economy was deeply impacted during the complete lockdown that was enforced has year. Unemployment reportedly went up to nearly 24 percent in April 2020.
