Actor Ananya Panday was called for the third round of questioning in the drugs-on-cruise case in Mumbai on Monday. She sought more time from the Narcotics Control Bureau and did not show up on Monday, as per a report by ANI.
Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan is allegedly involved in the same case and is currently lodged in Mumbai jail in judicial custody. Ananya Panday gave her reply to NCB summon and cited personal commitments. According to reports, the anti-drugs agency officials have accepted her request and will issue fresh summons for another date. The actor was questioned by the agency for four hours on Friday as well as two hours Thursday.
Panday is being interrogated because of her WhatsApp chats with Aryan Khan. As per the officials, Khan had asked Ananya Panday to arrange weed for him to which Ananya Panday replied, " I will arrange". However, the agency has no proof whether the actor was able to procure drugs for Aryan Khan.
So far Ananya Panday has denied all allegations of supplying drugs or consuming drugs. As per reports, te the actor told NCB that the chats with Aryan Khan were done jokingly. Her WhatsApp chats are being studied by NCB officials after the arrest of Aryan Khan.
The actor was summoned for questioning on Friday at 11 am but she reportedly arrived at 2 pm with her father Chunky Panday. The NCB Zonal director Wankhede reportedly reprimanded the actor and said the anti-drug agency was not a 'production house'.
On October 2, the NCB officials raided a rave party going on a cruise ship named Cordelia which was on its way to Goa. Aryan Khan was first detained after the party and then was arrested a day later. The star kid has applied for bail several times since his arrest but all his applications have been rejected by the court. He was initially sent to the custody of the NCB for four days, but since then, is under judicial remand.
Khan and others - his friends Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha - are lodged in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail. So far, the NCB has arrested 20 people.
