A 23-year-old Woman Shot Dead in Noida; Murder Caught on Camera

A 23-year-old Anjali Rathour, who was living in Shatabdi Rail Vihar Apartment Society in Noida, was found dead at around 6.30 am. The incident has been caught on camera which shows that Anjali was shot in the apartment complex by an unidentified man. Noida police have alleged her boyfriend, Ashwani’s involvement in the case as he called her at around 6.05 am then she went to meet him in the parking area of the building. Superintendent of Police (City) Arun Kumar Singh told IANS,

"The CCTV footage of around 6.30 am shows a man chasing her and she is running to avoid him. Finally, he shoots her in the back of her head."

"The CCTV at the main entrance gate was found to be non-functional. We could not identify the accused person due to unclear image of his face. The call details records (CDR) of the deceased are being examined," he said.

As the information spread, Anjali was taken to the Fortis hospital  near by immediately where she was declared brought dead. The police are looking for Ashwani now, who is from Etawah, Uttar Pradesh.

Anjali was working as a Trainee Engineer in the Sales Department of a mobile manufacturing company in Sector 62 of Noida. Hailing from Yamuna Nagar in Haryana, she was sharing accommodation in Noida with five other friends on the third floor of the said apartment. She started working at the IT Company sometime during the last year. Anjali had completed an IT course from a private University in Punjab, which is where she met Ashwani.

Police have found that Anjali had been avoiding Ashwani’s calls for a few days now. Her family has been informed.

The police have formed three teams to investigate the case. They are now inquiring the security guards, her office colleagues and roommates to nab the murderer.
