Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued a notice to Delhi Police seeking an investigation in the 8-year-old girl's gangrape case. An 8-year-old girl was raped by a group of unidentified men in the Shastri Park area of Delhi. The survivor is currently admitted to the ICU.
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal wrote to the Delhi Police regarding the 8-year-old girl's gang rape case. An 8-eight-old girl in Shastri Park, Delhi was allegedly raped by a group of unidentified men.
8-year-old girl gangraped in Delhi:
The Police stated that the girl stepped out of her house in Northeast Delhi to play with her friends when some men allegedly abducted her and raped the girl. The eight-year-old complained of stomach pain after getting back home and her parents found the girl bleeding. She was soon rushed to the hospital where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.
DCW Chief also said that the 8-year-old girl gang raped in Delhi is in a critical condition as she is admitted in the ICU fighting for her life. “She has multiple injuries on her private parts and is bleeding profusely. This is a case of gang rape. Her parents called us on our helpline,” the DCW said seeking immediate action against the perpetrators from Delhi Police.
Swati Maliwal asked the Delhi Police to register a case within two days and share the details of the FIR. Referring to the inhuman incident, she also insisted on giving a severe punishment to the criminals. “People gang-raping an 8-year-old are not humans! Strongest punishment needs to be given to the guilty,” she said.
Delhi Police said that they have registered a case based on the complaint made by the DCW and parents of the victim. Two accused men have already been detained with the help of a CCTV footage in the area. They are currently being questioned and are reported to be juveniles.
DCW has asked the Police for their input regarding the case latest by January 28, 2022 in its notice.
