Have a Plan & Work That Plan
The first step toward starting a business is to have a plan in place. Most successful businesses take the time to make sure they have a blueprint to success, a plan. When you have a blueprint and a direction to go, you will be so much more successful. There are many free resources across the Internet that can aid you in structuring and thinking through the writing of your business plan. Once you get the plan in place, follow it!
Network and build relationships
Nurture relationships that are helping your business and confidence. Follow up with people to let them know what you did with their recommendations and how it worked (or didn’t work) for business. Grow by connecting and meeting people and seeking their experience and understanding to learn and improve.
Be Flexible Change direction when something isn’t working
In a business, decisions may go in either direction but know when to seize the moment and change focus where needed. Set a timeframe for recognizing success based on a particular plan, and don’t be afraid to change directions if the plan has not worked.
Take Calculated Risks
Optimizing risk is key but not minimizing it. Calculated risks must be taken to enable change, to improve, and meet new customer needs. Eliminating risk will eventually cause any owner to restrict themselves and not take big decisions. Mistakes will happen, so the objective should not be to eliminate all mistakes, but to catch them before they create disasters, and become repeatable.
Be A Woman Leader
You are not expected to be rambo at work. If you think you come with certain skillset, make use of it. If you have an enhance sense of people, use it to your favour. If you are stronger at client servicing, go for it. Don't be a man-boss to operate. Be who you are. Believe that it doesn't matter whether you are man or woman to deliver results. At the same time, in structures and attitude be in your skin and not act like a man at the job.
