Elderly Man Rapes Minor, Son Ends-Up Recording The Act

In a disturbing incident of child sexual abuse, an elderly man was arrested by Delhi police accused of raping a minor girl. The son of the accused ended up recording the act on his mobile phone, which he placed secretly in the room to find out whether his father was into practising black magic.

On 27 June, Delhi police arrested a 68-year-old elderly man accused of raping a 16-year-old minor. The act was recorded in a mobile camera placed as a secret camera by the son of the accused. 

The son of the accused man suspected his father to be practising black magic and involving the girl in the act. So he placed a secret camera in his room to bust the truth that he suspected. But later when he found out about his father abusing the child, he sent the video recorded by him to the survivor's father who later lodged a complaint against the elderly man.

The police have registered an FIR against the man under the charge of Indian Penal Code section 376 for rape, section 506 for criminal intimidation, along with section 354 for outraging a woman's dignity, and the POCSO Act for Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences. 

The son of the accused who recorded the video of the act is also charged under IT Act. Both the father and son were interrogated after which the father was immediately sent to judicial custody while the son was charged for transmitting the video of the act. The phone on which the act was recorded has been taken into possession by police for further interrogation of the son. After the video was sent to the survivor's father, the survivor narrated her ordeal. 

According to DCP Sagar Singh Kalsi, the accused used to visit the survivor's home frequently and used to find opportunities to be alone with the girl. He grope the minor and even used gestures to lure her. Around 2 months back the accused lured the girl and took her to a secluded place where he forced himself on her and raped her. The minor was threatened by the accused to keep her mouth shut. However, the video shot by his son revealed the heinous crime. The girl was also provided with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) counselling by the Child Welfare Company (CWC).
