Weightlifter Granny
83-year-old Kiran Bai, also popularly known as Weightlifter Granny on social media, pulls off fitness stunts with weights that most people from the younger generation could not even fathom doing. After she was left inactive due to an injury, the 83-year-old turned to dumbbells and weights as her mode of staying fit with the help of her grandson. She said that she is reminded of those good old days when she was fearless and active when she lifts weights.
Bowling Grandma
This grandma went viral on Twitter after she bowled a clean strike at the bowling alley in her saree. After her fantastic throw, she turned around and wrung her hands if the throw was nothing difficult for her. Her fitness and athletic ability proved that age is just a number and you can do anything only if you tried.
Warrior Aaji
Fondly known as "Warrior Aaji", this 85-year-old grandma of Pune named Shanta Balu Pawar went viral after she juggled sticks on the street in a saree. She revealed that she had been doing martial arts since she was eight and used her skills as a livelihood for her family. Later, actor Sonu Sood helped Warrior Aaji set up her own martial arts and self-defence academy.
Usha Soman
81 years old fitness guru Usha Soman is an inspiration for many as she is often seen skipping, running marathons, and doing pushups on social media. The mother of Milind Soman did fifteen push-ups on her 81st birthday and the video was shared by Milind Soman on his Instagram account. She is described as a fitness addict by her son and has been called an inspiration by Shilpa Shetty and Arjun Rampal.
Girija Venkatesan
Girija Venkatesan, who is a 70-year-old woman from Chennai starts her day with a 50 km bike ride and is also a champion swimmer and successful artist. Venkatesan makes at least two trips a year likes meeting new people and breaking stereotypes as she believes that we have only one life and should live it just the way we want to while following our hearts.
Ernestine Shepherd
Famous by the name “the bench-pressing golden girl,” Ernestine Shepherd is an 85-year-old American bodybuilder. Shepherd was named as the world's oldest competitive female bodybuilder at the age of 74. Although she has now stopped competing in tournaments, she is still an active bodybuilder and works as a personal trainer, all at the age of 85.
