The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has proposed two plans in order to conduct the 12th Board exams. Against this proposal 300 CBSE students wrote to the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana requesting an alternative assessment scheme.
Under choice 1, the offline tests can be conducted during a time of one quarter of a year - one month of pre-test exercises and two months for the tests and assertion of results. Under the subsequent choice, hour and a half tests - rather than the typical three-hour variant - will be held in 19 significant subjects.
Against the said proposals 300 CBSE students sent a petition to CJI NV Ramana to quash the decision of the CBSE to hold physical conduct of exams amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Further, these students have requested the Supreme Court to direct the government to provide an alternative assessment scheme for the students of 12th class in CBSE Board.

The CBSE Board while proposing the two options for conducting the 12th Board exams said, "There is flexibility in this approach as the exam will be conducted in two phases, will be at own schools and will be of a shorter duration."
For the 14,30,247 CBSE students who had enlisted for the Class 12 tests, the board exams were booked between May 4 and June 14, rather than mid-February. Be that as it may, the tests were delayed in the midst of the countrywide COVID-19 emergency.
The Class 10 Board exams for CBSE Board remains cancelled and the students are going to be marked on the basis of internal assessment. Further, guideline regarding the admissions for class 11 would follow soon said the officials. The discussions are still going on regarding the method of conducting Class 12 Board exams.
