According to officials, 23 people, out of which 12 were women were arrested for an alleged prostitution racket at a hotel in Greater Noida in a raid by the police.
Greater Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh revealed that the local police officials are suspected to be involved in the operation of the prostitution racket and personnel were found guilty in the initial investigation.
Singh informed that “The hotel is located in the Dankaur police station area where a police raid was carried out by a team led by the assistant commissioner of police (Greater Noida 3) over the information of prostitution racket.” The people arrested include the hotel manager and objectionable items were seized from the hotel.
Singh stated that “Four police constables, a head constable and a driver are being shunted to the police lines with immediate effect. A report is being prepared over the role of the local Mandi Shyam Nagar police chowki in-charge, who was transferred out three days ago, and the local Dankaur police station in-charge as well” An enquiry is being by the additional deputy commissioner of police conducted regarding the role of the police officials.
According to the police, the legal proceedings against the 23 are currently being carried out.
