Kerala Girl shot Dead: Mariam Susan Mathew, a 19-year-old Kerala girl, was shot dead in Montgomery, the capital of Alabama in the United States after bullets from the upper floor allegedly pierced through the ceiling and killed her. She was asleep in her house when this happened.
An investigation has been initiated by the Montgomery police department. Fr Johnson Pappachan, of Malankara Orthodox Church Diocese of South-West America, in a release, said that sustained bullets from the gun of an occupant who lives on the upper floor of her house. The release also added that she was declared dead on the scene, as per report.

- She is the daughter of Boben Mathew, a native of Niranam in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district.
- Her body will be taken back to Kerala after the legal formalities are completed. There will also be a public viewing and funeral service in Alabama.
- She died on the spot after the bullet hit her.
- She has two siblings - Basil and Bimal.
- She was preparing for further studies. She completed her higher secondary education from a school in India.

Soumya Santosh was killed during the airstrikes in Israel, near the Gaza border in May this year. She was looking after another 80-year-old woman when the incident happened. Her husband was connected on a video call with her when the rocket hit the house and she died. Her body was brought to Kerala where her family members lived.
