A 16-year-old, punches gang of five who tried to molest her. Out of five, four of them were minors. The teen has alleged that all five tried to drag her to an empty field, about 200 m away from her home.
The teen happens to be a blue belt in judo. Every day she trains for at least two hours at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) complex adjacent to the Salt Lake stadium.
Bijoy Das, 20 and four other minors passed obscene comments at her. She was returning home from practice on April 18 when the incident occurred. Though she overlooked them and tried to ignore the situation, the gang allegedly molested her and tried to drag her to an isolated area.

According to an officer of the Bidhannagar commissioner, the girl was courageous and brave. She hit them back, somehow freed herself and ran away.
After returning home, she narrated the whole incident to her father. Her father is a priest at a local temple went on the spot. He probed them why they had harassed his daughter. Instead of expressing regret, Das and his gang pushed him to ground.
On Monday, the girl's father lodged a complaint with Bidhannagar South police station.
Amit Javalgi, deputy commissioner, headquarters, Bidhannagar commissioner said, "All five were picked up from their houses. They are known to harass women who pass by the area where they hang out every evening."

Ramesh Bor, a neighbour asserts that the boys and the gang tried taking advantage of the dark streets. The street lights have not been working for long.
"The area where the boys used to sit and smoke pot is desolate as there are no houses around," Bor said.
The boys were presented on Tuesday before the juvenile justice board. They have been sent to the home for observation until May 1. Das is under judicial custody till April 30.
All five have been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
