Dr. Kafeel Ahmed Khan ousted

The hospital authorities have also removed Dr Kafeel Ahmed Khan as the Nodal Officer for BRD Medical College's Department of Pediatrics, and replaced him by Dr Bhupendra Sharma.

Some reports suggested Ahmed had tried his best to save as many children as possible by collecting oxygen cylinders from nearby hospitals.

He tried to reach out to his doctor friends in other hospitals and local vendors to send some oxygen cylinders and succeeded in collecting 12 of them.

Dr Ahmed had also given debit card to one of his juniors and asked him to withdraw cash to make the payment at the earliest.

According to data procured from the BRD hospital, a total of 60 deaths have occurred in the hospital from August 7 to August 11.
