The Haridwar police have arrested a 15-year-old girl from Jabalpur for the gruesome murder of her own father and younger brother. The incident occurred on March 15th in the Millennium Society, Civil Lines area of Jabalpur. According to the authorities, the teenage girl, a Class X student, had been in a relationship with a 19-year-old named Mukul Singh, a relationship that her father, a railway head clerk, had strongly disapproved of. This disapproval ultimately led to a tragic sequence of events.
The Conspiracy
In September 2023, the girl had eloped with Mukul, resulting in his arrest under the
Pocso Act. However, after being released on bail, the duo allegedly conspired to eliminate the girl's
father, Rajkumar Vishwakarma. On the fateful night, the pair carried out the heinous crime, brutally murdering the father and his nine-year-old son, Tanishk. The bodies were then chopped into pieces and stuffed into a freezer.
The girl and Mukul then went on the run for almost three months, evading the authorities. It was only after locals in
Haridwar spotted the girl acting suspiciously that the police were able to apprehend her. During the interrogation, the girl confessed to the crime and revealed Mukul's involvement. Haridwar SSP Pramindra Dobal stated, "The girl was initially detained in the city after locals found her roaming suspiciously". During interrogation, she confessed to the crime and also disclosed her accomplice's identity. They then handed her over to Jabalpur police and continued to locate Mukul.
The police investigation has revealed that the couple had travelled to various locations, including Goa, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh, and
Punjab, before reaching Haridwar. It was at this point that Mukul "left the girl alone and fled," leaving the authorities to continue their search for the elusive accomplice.
