The incident resulted in the loss of at least 13 lives, most of whom were elementary school students residing in the dormitories at the time. Locals reported the fire at Yingcai School at 11 pm, prompting swift action from rescuers. The flames were extinguished by 11:38 pm, but the aftermath revealed a devastating toll. Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the fire, and a significant development is the detention of the school owner, as reported by CCTV. Yingcai School, designed for elementary-grade students and equipped with an attached kindergarten, now stands as a scene under scrutiny.

In November of the previous year, 26 lives were lost in a fire at a coal company in northern China's Shanxi province. Similarly, in July, 11 individuals perished when the roof of a school gym collapsed in the country's northeast.
