Singer Sona Mohapatra slammed Vishal Dadlani for his silence on #metoo allegations against his colleague Anu Malik. While he reacted to Rhea Chakraborty's brother Showik's bail on Twitter, he seemingly chose to remain silent on the news of #metoo allegations against his fellow Indian Idol judge.
On December 10, Vishal Dadlani posted a tweet, expressing how his heart goes out to the brother-sister duo. Likewise, he wrote about the unethical media witch-hunt of Rhea Chakraborty and how it ruined two innocent people's lives for their ulterior motives and gains.
Let's not forget the malicious role of #ArnabTheBastard & his cohorts & other media who cashed in!
Those vultures ruined the lives of a young brother + sister & preyed on the death of a young star for trps & political gain for their masters.
Pure evil. Hope they rot in hell! https://t.co/4ifYNFJlb4

After this, a social media user slammed the music director for his hypocritical silence on the alleged #metoo allegations against Anu Malik. The user wrote that of all people, he shouldn't be talking about such matters. This is because didn't even utter a single word about #metoo accused Anu Malik and continued to work with him.
That is when Sona Mohapatra, one of the many women who called out Anu Malik's actions joined the matter. She replied to his tweet and pointed out his sympathy for Rhea, while totally staying mum when so many women called out his fellow colleague.
“What is right is often forgotten by what is convenience.” Dadlani’s heart bleeds for Rhea Chakraborty & 🤟🏾🙏🏾.None of this justice bent came into play for Vishal when endless women called out his #IndianIdol colleague Anu Malik. @IndiaMeToo .#WontBeForgotten #India #WillRemember https://t.co/tHwsaXKdhC

#MeToo allegations against Anu Malik
Music director Anu Malik was in news time and again due to allegations of sexual harassment by multiple women against him. Consequently, he stepped down as a judge of the music reality show Indian Idol amidst the allegations in 2018. Many well-known celebrities like Sona Mohapatra, Shweta Pandit, Neha Bhasin and Alisha Chinai accused him of sexually harassing them.
The first allegation against was in 1996 when Alisha Chinai dragged him to court. However, the issue was settled by both the parties after a few years. After some years when the #metoo movement started in India, many other women called out his predatory behaviour.
Singer Shweta Pandit took it to social media and posted the tweet below:
Had to go back to my worst memory as a teenage girl today to write this and speak up - its now or never. This is my #MeToo and have to warn young girls about #AnuMalik & let you know your #TimesUp @IndiaMeToo
Thank you @sonamohapatra for speaking up about him & supporting this pic.twitter.com/e261pGQyEq— Shweta Pandit (@ShwetaPandit7) October 17, 2018
Singer Sona Mohapatra also thrashed Anu Malik when he denied the allegations against him by many women. She tweeted her response to Anu Malik's statement.
Anu Malik finally wrote back to all of us last evening. My response to him, next to his letter. 👇🏾
In case mine is too long to read, have also attached a shorter, crisper one, one amongst many on my timeline. Thank you @KallolDatta for saying it better #India @IndiaMeToo pic.twitter.com/NNeW59fLPs— Sona Mohapatra (@sonamohapatra) November 15, 2019
