Three policemen were suspended after the deceased Unnao rape survivor’s nephew went missing. The rape survivor died after being set ablaze by perpetrators last year, while she was on her way to attend court trial. The deceased woman's six-year-old nephew reportedly went missing on Friday.

Inspector general of Lucknow Lakshmi Singh, who went to investigate the matter on Saturday, has now ordered the suspension of gunner Narendra Kumar Yadav, constable Rajesh Kumar, and lady constable Anuj.

Reportedly a search operation is underway to locate the child after his family filed a missing complaint.
The complaint revealed the names of Captain Bajpai, Saroj Trivedi, Anita, Sundara Lodh, and Harshit Bajpai reported India TV. They belong to the same village and are related to all the accused in the Unnao rape case, namely, Shubham and Shivam Trivedi, Hari Shankar, Umesh, and Ram Kishore.
Moreover, a case under section 364 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Bihar police station and teams from five police stations including Bihar, Maurawan, Barasagwar, Purwa, and Bighapur are working to recover the missing child. Unnao Superintendent of Police Anand Kulkarni said, “We hope to recover the boy soon.”

About the case
In December 2018, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped in Unnao. While the accused men were put behind the bars in March 2019, they were out on bail in December. On December 5, the survivor was on her way for the trial of the rape case when she was reportedly abducted by five men and set on fire. The woman passed away on December 6 while undergoing treatment.
