IAS Officer Tina Dabi has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Finance (Tax) Department in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Department of Personnel, Government of Rajasthan website lists this as her "present post". Prior to her appointment, Dabi was working as Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Zila Parishad Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. Dabi shared the news about her joining on November 27, via Twitter and Instagram.

In July this year, she had been appointed as an honorary member of BRICS (association of Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa) Chamber of Commerce.

Who is Tina Dabi?
Dabi made headlines by securing first rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Examination in 2015 at the age of 22. She is a Political Science graduate from Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram College. Tina Dabi is the first Dalit woman to top the UPSC examination and she is said to have cracked it in her first attempt.
Tina Dabi is one of the youngest toppers of the UPSC exam as well. Training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Dabi was awarded the President’s gold medal in 2018. She also secured the first rank in the Order of Merit.
As COVID-19 pandemic gained momentum in India, in the early part of the year, she applied a "ruthless" containment model in the district of Bhilwara, where she was working as sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) since October 2018, to keep the number of cases in check.
"We never get this opportunity to serve so many people to handle a crisis of this magnitude. I think the learning experience that is going to come from it is going to be very rewarding for me though out my career and I am looking at it as a matter of pride," said Tina Dabi. Then in July, the steering committee for BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Young Leaders appointed Dabi as an honorary advisor, for the session 2020 to 2023. “Your expertise as an achiever is a fitting example of a role model for the youth in a global society. We strongly believe that your vision will inspire our motive further,” said Deepanga Singhi, assistant director of BRICS CCI in a letter regarding her appointment.
