With advancement of technology more and more women are also contemplating and some deciding to freeze their eggs to keep the option of motherhood open. 1. Tanishaa Mukerji
Recently, actor Tanishaa Mukerji revealed to a leading daily that she chose to freeze her eggs at the age of 39. Previously, she wanted to go through the procedure at 33 but her doctor advised against it. She told her to undergo the process only when she has no hope of conceiving a baby. However, the same doctor froze her eggs six years later. Mukerji said that it is a personal choice and it is alright if a woman does not want to have children. There is also the option of adopting children. Having children is not the only calling in a woman's life. 2. Mona Singh
In November 2020, actor Mona Singh took to her Instagram handle and said that she was happy that she took the call to freeze her eggs at the age of 34. She also said that she was sure of motherhood but wanted time to decide when she can embrace it wholeheartedly. "Sometimes we, as women, forget that we can make a choice. Motherhood is an important life decision and emotionally challenging for a woman, given the societal norms. I am happy that I took a call to freeze my eggs at the age of 34 because, while I am sure of motherhood, I wanted to take time and decide when I want to embrace it wholeheartedly," wrote the actor.
3. Sofia Vergara
In 2013, Sofia Vergara revealed to ABC News that she froze her eggs in the hope of having a baby with her then-fiancé, Nicholas Loeb. "I wanted to make sure I already froze my eggs. I wanted to take advantage of science," she added that took them out and they're in the refrigerators. The Modern Family actor added that she hopes they'll be fresh by the time she uses them. She also said that her partner, Nicky never had a son but she has her son, Manolo (from her previous marriage). So it's not an emergency for her to have another child. But she did not want to rule out the possibility of having a child with him as he has never had one. Vergara is now married to Joe Manganiello.
4. Kim Kardashian West
In 2015, Kim Kardashian West said to ELLE UK that a few years ago, three doctors told her that she could never get pregnant. So she wanted to freeze her eggs. As she went to start the process, she realised that she was already pregnant with her first child, North. "I want a boy and another girl; I want it to start happening straightaway," she said. West further said that she loved being part of a huge family and wanted that for North. "We’d do IVF if nothing happens, but we both want to keep trying naturally," she added. However, after she experienced life-threatening pre-eclampsia during her second pregnancy with Saint, she was no longer able to carry children. Thus, her last two children, Chicago and Psalm, were both conceived using IVF and a surrogate.
5. Amy Schumer
After the birth of her first child, Gene, actor Amy Schumer took to her Instagram handle and wrote that she is a week into IVF and is feeling really run down and emotional. Schumer also asked if anyone had gone through it and had any advice. She also said that if any of her followers wanted to share their experience with her, they could do so. "My number is in my bio. We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling," she added.
