Shreya Ghoshal Got Her First Vaccine Jab, Says It Is Safe For New Mothers

Shreya Ghoshal COVID vaccine: Popular singer Shreya Ghoshal got her first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday. She took to social media to announce that it is safe for mothers who have just given birth.

Ghoshal also suggested nursing mothers to get vaccinated against the disease. Ghoshal and her husband Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya became parents to a son 'Devyaan' on May 22.

On Monday, June 14, Ghoshal uploaded an Instagram reel announcing that while her newborn baby, Devyaan was asleep, she quickly went out to get the first jab of her COVID-19 vaccine. "While #Devyaan was sleeping peacefully at home, I quickly went out to get my first dose of vaccination today!!," she wrote. She added, "Its absolutely safe for new mothers to get vaccinated for COVID as recommended by my doctors". Finally, the singer said, "Just like anyone else, if you are a nursing mother, you too can get your shots".

Her fans, colleagues and well-wishers appreciated her for being responsible and promoting vaccination. They also showed their concern for her by asking her to stay fit and taking care of herself.

The next day, Ghoshal shared an appreciation post for her Gynecologist on Twitter for her loving care and warmth throughout her pregnancy up to the birth of her son. She wrote, "Had a wonderful experience under Dr @kirancoelho's loving care and warmth through this whole pregnancy till Devyaan's birth. Always by my side whenever I had any worry. She is now like family. What an inspirational woman".
